China and South Korea Expand Air Service Amid Rising Travel Demand
China and South Korea have agreed to expand their bilateral air traffic rights, increasing weekly frequencies from 662 to 732. This includes additional passenger and cargo services, reflecting a strong recovery in travel demand between the two countries. The agreement marks the first expansion of air traffic rights since 2019, with passenger traffic reaching 4.4 million travelers in the first quarter of 2026, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The increased capacity aims to enhance international connectivity and support inbound tourism to regional destinations.
