Carnival Cruise Passenger Dies After Balcony Fall Near Catalina Island
A passenger aboard the Carnival Firenze cruise ship died after falling from her stateroom balcony onto a deck below while the ship was near Catalina Island, California. The incident occurred on Monday, and the FBI is leading the investigation due to its jurisdiction over events on U.S.-homeported cruise ships. Carnival Cruise Line has stated that their Care Team is supporting the victim's family, and law enforcement boarded the ship to gather information. The ship, which departed from Los Angeles for a cruise to Mexico, continued its journey to Ensenada after the investigation began.
