Utah Attorney General Secures Over 1.5 Million Eggs for Food Bank in Price-Fixing Settlement
The Utah Attorney General's office has secured a settlement resulting in the delivery of over 1.5 million eggs to the Utah Food Bank. This settlement stems from a lawsuit against three major egg producers—Cal-Main Foods, Inc., Versova Holdings, and Hickman's Family Farms—accused of coordinating to inflate daily egg prices. The State of Utah alleged that these practices led to increased costs for consumers, directly impacting families. Instead of a monetary payout, the agreement specifies that the eggs will be distributed through the food bank's statewide network to assist families facing food insecurity.
