Stockbridge Mayor Jayden Williams Stripped of Duties Amid Spending Probe
Jayden Williams, the 22-year-old mayor of Stockbridge, Georgia, has been temporarily stripped of his duties and privileges due to an investigation into his alleged spending habits. Williams, who was elected less than a year ago on a platform of accountability and transparency, failed to meet a deadline to return city-issued credit cards, prompting the investigation. The Stockbridge city council voted unanimously to suspend his city-issued credit card and restrict the use of city-owned vehicles. Although Williams has not been charged with any crime, the measures are intended to maintain the integrity of city operations during the investigation. Williams has taken legal action to ensure a fair and transparent process and remains able to preside over council meetings and perform constitutional duties.
