CJ ENM, TBS, and U-Next Launch StudioMonowa for Korea-Japan Drama Ventures
CJ ENM, TBS, and U-Next have launched a new joint venture, StudioMonowa, aimed at producing and distributing Korea-Japan drama content. The venture combines CJ ENM's expertise in K-drama production, TBS's original Japanese IP, and U-Next's streaming capabilities. The collaboration seeks to create content that appeals to both Asian and global audiences, leveraging each company's strengths in content planning, IP sourcing, and distribution. StudioMonowa aims to manage projects on a lifetime-value basis, expecting returns across multiple phases of a property's commercial life. The partnership was formalized following discussions initiated in April 2025, highlighting a strategic move to integrate Korean and Japanese content industries.
