European Union Invests €10 Billion in AI Gigafactories to Boost Technological Leadership
The European Union (EU) is making a significant investment of €10 billion to establish seven artificial intelligence (AI) gigafactories. This initiative aims to bridge the technology gap with the U.S. and China. The EU plans to attract an additional €20 billion in private investments to support these projects. The gigafactories are part of a broader strategy to enhance the EU's technological leadership and strategic autonomy. These facilities will provide advanced AI computing infrastructure, combining massive computing power with state-of-the-art AI processors, software, and cloud technology. The initiative is expected to strengthen the EU's AI ecosystem by expanding computing capacity and driving a service-oriented model for AI development.
