AI-Supervised Exam Failure Forces 58,000 Students to Retake Test
A remote entrance exam for UNAM, Mexico's largest university, supervised by AI, resulted in significant discrepancies in scores, leading to accusations of widespread cheating. The exam, taken by nearly 160,000 applicants, showed an unusual increase in top scores compared to previous years. In response, UNAM has decided to administer a 'control exam' in person for about 58,000 affected students. This decision aims to ensure fairness and equity in the admission process. The university's rector has apologized to honest applicants who must retake the exam despite not being at fault.
