SK Group Chairman Ordered to Pay $644 Million in Divorce Settlement
A South Korean court has ordered Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, to pay $644 million to his ex-wife, Roh Soh-yeong, following a high-profile divorce case. The Seoul High Court's decision comes after the Supreme Court instructed a review of a previous ruling that had set the payment at $1 billion. The case, dubbed the 'divorce of the century,' involves the division of assets accumulated during the couple's marriage, including Chey's stake in SK Group. The court acknowledged Roh's contributions to the marriage, which included homemaking and public-facing activities. The settlement is not final, as either party may appeal the decision.
