Mount Sinai Medical Center Opens New Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami Beach
Mount Sinai Medical Center has inaugurated the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami Beach, Florida. The new facility, a 216,000-square-foot, five-story building, significantly expands the center's capacity for cancer care. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by notable figures including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator Rick Scott, and philanthropist Norman Braman. The center aims to address the rising cancer rates in South Florida, projected to increase by over 12% by the decade's end. It consolidates advanced diagnostics, precision treatment, clinical research, and supportive care under one roof. The facility includes 39 infusion bays, 56 physician exam rooms, and advanced linear accelerators, among other features. It is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds and is built for long-term resilience.
