Alex Jones Shuts Down Infowars Amid Legal and Financial Challenges
Alex Jones has announced the shutdown of his Infowars platform, ceasing broadcasts and closing its Austin headquarters. This development follows a court-appointed receiver's directive for Jones and his team to vacate the premises. The Infowars website now displays 'Off Air,' though it remains unclear if the shutdown was initiated by Jones or the receiver. The closure coincides with ongoing legal battles, including a Texas state appeals court's temporary halt on asset turnover related to defamation judgments against Jones. These judgments stem from false claims about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The receiver, Gregory S. Milligan, had sought to license Infowars' intellectual property to generate revenue, but this move was paused by the court.
