ASU Establishes Center for Agriculture and National Security Amid Global Challenges
Arizona State University has launched the Center for Agriculture and National Security, directed by Alicia Ellis, to address vulnerabilities in the U.S. food supply chain. The center, part of ASU's Future Security Initiative, aims to secure food systems and enhance national resilience. This initiative was spurred by recent global events, such as Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which highlighted the fragility of agricultural supply chains. The center will focus on integrating agriculture into national security strategies and will offer educational programs to explore the links between conflict, security, and agricultural production.
