Clovis Rodeo Kicks Off Amid Thunderstorms
The 112th Clovis Rodeo commenced despite recent thunderstorms that swept through the area. Thousands of attendees gathered to enjoy the opening day, which featured bull riding and a celebration of western culture. The event, which spans five days, is expected to draw up to 50,000 visitors. Despite the muddy conditions caused by the storms, the rodeo proceeded as planned, with participants and spectators undeterred by the weather. The Clovis Rodeo Association, led by Executive Board member Ben Genco, emphasized that the event would continue rain or shine. The rodeo grounds, initially muddy from the rain, were prepared for the festivities, which included performances by country rocker Corey Kent and a drone show.
