Dawson, who grew up in the neighborhood and frequented the deli since childhood, shared her condolences on social media, describing Saleh as a sweet and cherished community member. The incident has drawn attention to ongoing safety concerns in the area, as Saleh had previously advocated for panic buttons in bodegas to enhance security.
