Malaysia's Immigration Department to Enhance Border Screening with NIISe System
Malaysia's Immigration Department is set to significantly upgrade its border screening capabilities with the implementation of the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe). This new platform will provide immigration officers with real-time access to data from various agencies, including Interpol, the Royal Malaysia Police, the Prisons Department, the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), and the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN). Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the department is progressively transitioning from the existing MyIMMs system to NIISe. The primary goal is to improve preliminary screening, enhance traveler risk assessment, and facilitate better information sharing among government agencies.
