Valie Export, a trailblazing feminist artist known for her avant-garde performances and films, has died at the age of 85. Export, born Waltraud Lehner in Austria, was a key figure in the feminist art movement, using her body as a medium to challenge societal norms and explore themes of voyeurism and the female gaze. Her work in the 1960s and 1970s, including the controversial 'Aktionhose Genitalpanik' and 'TAPP und TASTKINO', pushed boundaries and provoked discussions on the representation of women in media. Export's contributions to art were recognized globally, and she continued to influence contemporary art until her passing.
