Japan and France Sign Rare Earths Deal to Reduce China Dependency
Japan and France have agreed to collaborate on strengthening rare earths supply chains, aiming to reduce reliance on China, the dominant global supplier. The agreement was reached during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Japan, where a roadmap for cooperation on critical minerals was signed. This move is part of a broader strategy by both countries to secure essential materials for technology and manufacturing, amid geopolitical tensions with China.
