UNDP Indonesia Focuses on Youth Empowerment and Innovation to Drive Economic Growth
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Indonesia is prioritizing youth empowerment and innovation as part of its development agenda. Recognizing the critical role of young people in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNDP Indonesia is implementing initiatives to equip youth with future-ready skills, expand access to quality education, and promote entrepreneurship. The program aims to harness Indonesia's demographic dividend, with 64.22 million young people aged 16-30 representing 24% of the population. Key initiatives include the Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurship Empowerment (YUMEE) and the Youth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship Program (YDEEP), which focus on enhancing access to finance, business skills, and digital tools for young entrepreneurs, particularly women. These efforts are supported by partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society to ensure youth are active leaders in shaping inclusive and sustainable development.
