Comcast to Pay $117.5 Million in Settlement for Xfinity Data Breach
Comcast has agreed to a $117.5 million settlement following a class-action lawsuit related to a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 36 million Xfinity customers in October 2023. Affected customers can file claims for compensation, with options for a flat payment of $50 or up to $10,000 if they can document specific losses. The settlement also includes provisions for identity defense services for those impacted. The deadline for filing claims is August 14, 2026, with a final court approval hearing scheduled for July 7, 2026.
