USDA Awards Funds to Boost Agriculture and Renewable Fuels in Iowa
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development has awarded $11.5 million in grants and loans to support agriculture, manufacturing, and renewable fuel sales in Iowa. Iowa State University and various cooperatives and businesses will use the funding to advance economic development, promote value-added agricultural enterprises, and expand renewable fuel infrastructure. The funding includes grants for ethanol and biodiesel sales expansion, with Molo Petroleum LLC receiving nearly $2 million to install dispensers and storage tanks at fueling stations. The initiative aims to increase biofuel sales by over 6.2 million gallons annually.
