Severe Mother’s Day Storms Explode Across Texas
Dangerous thunderstorms erupted across Texas on Mother’s Day, bringing threats of baseball-size hail, destructive winds and isolated tornadoes. The highest risk stretched from Dallas-Fort Worth to San Angelo, where forecasters warned storms could rapidly intensify into powerful supercells before merging into a massive storm complex. Wind gusts above 70 mph and giant hail were possible as warm, humid air collided with a cold front. Emergency crews were activated across Texas ahead of the severe weather outbreak.
