Deer Park Inn Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Community Recognition
The Deer Park Inn, a historic establishment in Garrett County, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary under the ownership of Pascal and Nadine 'Sandy' Fontaine. The inn, housed in the Pennington Cottage, is renowned for its elegant dining and French cuisine, which incorporates locally sourced ingredients. The celebration was marked by a ceremony led by Connor Norman from the Garrett County Department of Business Development, who read an official citation from U.S. Rep. April McClain Delaney recognizing the inn's accomplishments. Commissioner Paul Edwards also presented a commendation from the Board of Garrett County Commissioners. The event featured French hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Fontaines, highlighting the inn's culinary excellence. The Pennington Cottage, originally built in 1889, is a significant historical structure, once part of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's Deer Park Hotel complex.
