Astrophotographer Captures Stunning Image of Pleiades Star Cluster
Astrophotographer Mark Germani has captured a remarkable image of the Pleiades star cluster, also known as the 'Seven Sisters,' surrounded by glowing blue nebulas. The Pleiades, located 445 light-years from Earth in the constellation Taurus, is a cluster of over 1,000 blue-white stars. Germani's photograph reveals the cluster's seven brightest stars, which are enveloped by interstellar clouds of dust and gas known as reflection nebulas. These nebulas reflect the blue light of nearby stars, creating a striking visual effect. Germani used a specialized telescope and camera setup to capture the image over 18 hours from Vancouver, Canada.
