IATA to Review Director General Candidates by End of June Amid Leadership Transition
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is in the process of selecting a new Director General following the resignation of Willie Walsh, who is set to become CEO of IndiGo in August. The IATA Board of Governors, during its annual general meeting in Rio de Janeiro, announced that a subcommittee is conducting interviews with potential candidates. Recommendations for the new Director General are expected to be made by the end of June. This leadership change comes a year earlier than planned, as Walsh's term was originally set to end in 2027. The candidate list includes individuals from both within and outside the aviation industry.
