Hamilton Medical Center Nurse Allison Hampton Receives DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing
Allison Hampton, a float pool nurse at Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) in Dalton, Georgia, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award is recognized as the highest honor a nurse can receive at HMC and is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), to acknowledge exceptional nursing efforts. Hampton was nominated for her outstanding qualities, including compassion, kindness, honesty, clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, reassurance, a gentle approach, exceptional care, and a comforting and attentive nature. The DAISY Award recipients receive an honorary DAISY pin, a banner for their unit, an award certificate, and a hand-carved sculpture called 'Healer’s Touch' from the Shona tribe in Zimbabwe, which symbolizes the profound respect given to traditional healers. Eighty-one other nurses were also nominated for the award, highlighting the widespread dedication within the nursing staff.
