These facilities, essential for powering artificial intelligence, are expanding rapidly across the U.S. The pledge, introduced by the White House in March, has also been signed by major tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The initiative seeks to ensure that the costs of data center infrastructure are not passed on to consumers. Despite the pledge's non-binding nature, it encourages signatories to implement its principles to the fullest extent possible. The announcement was made at an event at the Environmental Protection Agency headquarters, highlighting the growing coalition supporting this initiative.
