Ashburn FBI Agent Charged with Stealing $1M in Cryptocurrency Using FBI Resources
Patrick Steven Yaroch, an FBI agent from Ashburn, Virginia, has been charged with stealing approximately $1 million in cryptocurrency. Yaroch allegedly used his position and access to FBI intelligence to transfer funds from adversarial accounts into his personal wallet. The thefts occurred over multiple transactions, exploiting passphrases found in FBI systems. Yaroch, who held a top-secret clearance, confessed to the crime, citing frustration with his inability to disrupt a target's cryptocurrency activities.
