Glenn Youngkin Launches Education Policy Group Targeting School Choice Expansion
Former Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, a Republican and potential 2028 presidential candidate, has established a national policy group named Empowering America’s Parents. This group aims to promote a new school choice program through a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign in battleground states such as Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. These states, led by Democratic governors, have not yet adopted the Education Freedom Tax Credit, part of the One Big Beautiful Bill signed into law by President Trump. The initiative seeks to expand educational choices for K-12 students and their families. Youngkin's group plans to highlight leaders who support the program and criticize those who do not. The campaign will focus on increasing awareness and support for the tax credit, particularly among suburban voters.
