Artist Amy Adams Establishes Permanent Wind Phone Installation for Mental Health Support in Franklin Sculpture Park
Artist Amy Adams has successfully launched the Franklin Wind Phone as a permanent installation at the Franklin Sculpture Park. This initiative aims to support mental health and well-being through art and community connection. The Wind Phone provides a space for individuals to engage in conversation and healing, particularly concerning grief and loss. The installation features hand-painted panels depicting wildflowers and nature, symbolizing comfort and the shared experience of missing loved ones. Adams collaborated with Margaret Munson on painting the panels, and local families contributed painted stones for a surrounding rock garden. The project also includes a list of local counseling and support resources available at the Wind Phone site. The Franklin Wind Phone was officially welcomed during the Franklin Sculpture Park Welcome Ceremony, alongside other new public artworks.
