Emergent, a startup known for its vibe-coding technology, has launched Wingman, a personal AI agent designed to compete with tools like OpenClaw and NanoBot. Wingman operates on messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and iMessage, connecting to applications like Gmail and Slack. It is designed to perform multi-step tasks semi-autonomously, making decisions on behalf of users. CEO Mukund Jha emphasized the security measures in place to protect against hacking and breaches, including not granting open permissions by default and flagging untrusted internet content. The launch positions Emergent against major AI labs like Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI, aiming to offer a secure and user-friendly experience.
