Taiwan's Electronic Toll Technology Implemented in India
Taiwan's electronic toll collection (ETC) system has been successfully installed in India, marking a significant step in international collaboration on smart transportation. The system, developed by Far Eastern Electronic Toll Collection Co and other Taiwanese companies, was first implemented in Gujarat and Haryana. On its first day, the system processed over 41,500 vehicles without requiring them to stop, showcasing its efficiency. This initiative is part of India's broader plan to upgrade its toll infrastructure, aiming to convert 10% of its traditional toll stations to barrier-free systems.
