Garden City Restaurants Closed for Cleanup After Electrical Fire
Mesita, a Mexican restaurant in Garden City, and its neighboring Greek restaurant, Meli, were closed on Sunday following an electrical fire on Saturday. The fire, which originated from a basement electrical outlet at Mesita, led to a power outage affecting both establishments. The Garden City Fire Department responded promptly, and the fire was controlled within 55 minutes. However, the loss of electricity resulted in spoiled refrigerated food. Both restaurants are working to restore power and reopen, with health department inspections pending.
