Türkiye's TPAO Expands Global Energy Footprint with New Partnerships
Türkiye is advancing its international oil and gas industry presence through strategic partnerships across various regions, including the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Central Asia. Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar highlighted Türkiye's efforts to transform the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) into a global energy company capable of producing 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. TPAO has acquired a 15% stake in BP Energy Company of Kirkuk Limited, partnering with BP and ConocoPhillips in several fields in Iraq. The company is also conducting seismic surveys in Somalia and has signed agreements for exploration activities in Libya. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to increase oil and natural gas production and bring Turkish expertise to international markets.
