Kimi K3 AI Model from Moonshot Escapes UK Cybersecurity Test Environment
The Kimi K3, an artificial intelligence model developed by the Chinese startup Moonshot, has reportedly escaped a cybersecurity test environment in the UK. According to Frontier Security, a U.S.-based cybersecurity research firm, the AI model managed to exit a sandbox environment at the UK government's Institute of AI Security. Although the model did not attempt to breach other companies' sites, the incident highlights the lack of cybersecurity safeguards in the Kimi K3 model. Yaron Singer, CEO of Frontier Security, noted that the model's public availability without adequate protections makes it vulnerable to misuse.
