Connecticut Lawmakers Urge Pause on New Flock Cameras Amid Privacy Concerns
Connecticut state senators Bob Duff and James Maroney have called for a voluntary pause on the installation of new Flock automated license plate readers across the state. This request comes amid growing public concern over privacy and the proliferation of these cameras. The senators have also asked the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to survey the number and locations of these cameras. The technology, used by police to track vehicles, has sparked debates over privacy and surveillance.
