FSU Shooting Video Released Accidentally, Prosecutor Apologizes to Families
Prosecutors in Florida have acknowledged the accidental release of body camera and security footage from the 2025 Florida State University shooting, which resulted in two deaths and several injuries. The footage, which was not properly redacted, was made public following numerous records requests. The State Attorney's Office is reviewing pending requests to prevent further unauthorized releases. The videos show the moments leading up to the arrest of the suspect, Phoenix Ikner, who faces charges of first-degree murder. The release has upset victims' families, who were promised a private viewing before public dissemination.
