Violet Hensley, affectionately known as the 'Whittlin’ Fiddler', has passed away at the age of 109. Hensley was a celebrated figure at Silver Dollar City, where she crafted fiddles and performed for over 50 years. Born in 1916, she learned to carve and play the fiddle from her father. Her career took off in her 50s, leading to national recognition and appearances on shows like 'The Beverly Hillbillies' and 'Live with Regis and Kathy Lee'. Hensley was also featured at the Smithsonian and inducted into the National Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame.
