Somaliland to Open Embassy in Jerusalem as Israel Plans Reciprocal Move
Somaliland, a self-declared republic in the Horn of Africa, announced plans to open an embassy in Jerusalem following Israel's recognition of its independence. In return, Israel is expected to establish an embassy in Somaliland's capital, Hargeisa. This diplomatic exchange marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations, with Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar highlighting the importance of the move. Somaliland, which has enjoyed autonomy since 1991, hopes this recognition will encourage other nations to follow suit.
