Anduril Unveils Thunder, an Autonomous Attack Rotorcraft for Military Use
Anduril Industries has introduced Thunder, an autonomous attack rotorcraft, at the 2026 Farnborough Airshow. Developed in collaboration with Archer Aviation, Thunder is designed to operate alongside crewed attack helicopters, providing support in various military operations. The rotorcraft features a hybrid-electric powertrain and tilt rotors, enabling it to perform in diverse environments. Its mission suite includes capabilities for long-range mass effects delivery, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and more. Thunder can be equipped with a range of weapons, including precision munitions and electronic warfare payloads. The aircraft is designed to operate autonomously, using Anduril's Lattice for Mission Autonomy software, which allows for safe operation without pilot control.
