The company confirmed the issue, with users reporting problems primarily with logging in and app functionality. According to Downdetector, 54% of the issues were related to login problems, while 39% involved app functionality, and 4% were website-related. Letterboxd communicated with users via social media, acknowledging the outage and assuring them that efforts were underway to resolve the issue. The platform was eventually restored, with the company thanking users for their patience.
