Tyumen Oil Refinery Halts Production After Ukrainian Drone Strike, Affecting Russian Oil Output
An oil refinery in the Tyumen region of western Siberia has completely halted its crude oil processing and petroleum product output following a drone attack. The attack, confirmed by Tyumen region Governor Alexander Moor, targeted the refinery's secondary processing units, causing a fire. The facility, owned by RI-Invest, was already undergoing repairs from a previous fire in June. The refinery has a production capacity of 9 million metric tons per year, and in 2024, it processed 5.7 million metric tons of crude oil. The extent of the damage and the timeline for repairs remain uncertain.
