UK Government Summons Iranian Ambassador Over Embassy's Social Media Posts
The United Kingdom has summoned Iran’s ambassador to London following what the British government described as 'unacceptable and inflammatory' social media comments made by the Iranian embassy. The embassy had posted a statement on its Telegram channel urging Iranians in Britain to volunteer for a campaign to defend Iran, which the UK interpreted as encouraging violence. Britain's minister for the Middle East, Hamish Falconer, emphasized that the embassy must cease communications that could be seen as inciting violence. The incident has heightened tensions, with British lawmakers expressing concerns over potential threats posed by Iran.
