APEC Ministers Adopt Chengdu Declaration to Boost Digital Transformation and AI
The APEC Digital Policy Summit concluded with the adoption of the 'Chengdu Declaration,' focusing on digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) as key drivers for economic growth. The declaration emphasizes the importance of digital technology and AI in enhancing productivity, innovation, and narrowing the development gap among member economies. The summit highlighted the role of AI in boosting the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and encouraged the development of cost-effective digital solutions to support business innovation. The ministers also stressed the need for human-centered AI products tailored to specific economic conditions to improve public services. Additionally, the summit called for collaboration with the open-source community while ensuring data protection and intellectual property rights.
