High Temperatures Expected in Spain and Brazil This Week
This week, Spain and Brazil are experiencing temperatures significantly above the seasonal average. In Spain, cities like Madrid and Seville are forecasted to reach temperatures of 30°C (86°F) and 34°C (93°F) respectively, which is about 9-10°C above the norm for late April. This heat is attributed to a south-westerly flow bringing warm air from North Africa. Additionally, a dust plume from the Sahara is expected to affect the skies over Iberia and southwestern France, potentially causing vibrant orange or red skies at sunrise and sunset. In Brazil, states such as São Paulo, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Santa Catarina will see high temperatures in the upper 30s Celsius (mid-90s Fahrenheit), which is 5-10°C above average.
