EON Space Labs Unveils Germanium-Free EO/IR Sensor for Military Use
EON Space Labs, a Hyderabad-based company, has launched a new germanium-free electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor named Lumira_E40I50. This sensor is designed for integration into Indian military surveillance systems across various domains, including air, land, maritime, and space. The Lumira system uses chalcogenide glass and other infrared-compatible materials instead of the traditionally imported germanium components. It features a 40x optical zoom LWIR thermal sensor and incorporates edge AI-enabled detection and classification functions, capable of detecting personnel up to 2 km and vehicles up to 8 km.
