Northeast High School Receives Grant to Enhance Workforce Readiness
Northeast High School has been awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of East Mississippi to support its Pathways to College and Career Readiness Initiative. This funding aims to alleviate the costs associated with retaking the ACT WorkKeys exam, a test that evaluates essential workplace skills. The grant, named after Susan B. Herron, a notable advocate for arts and education, is intended to help students achieve better scores, thereby improving their career readiness. Principal Allyson Butler emphasized the importance of this grant in helping students meet career-readiness benchmarks, which are crucial for obtaining advanced diplomas and recognized credentials by employers.
