Turkey Considers Joining Strait of Hormuz Demining Operation Amid Iran-US Peace Talks
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Turkey might participate in demining operations in the Strait of Hormuz, contingent upon a peace agreement between Iran and the United States. Speaking in London, Fidan emphasized that Turkey views such demining efforts as a humanitarian duty. The operations would be conducted by a technical team comprising various countries, formed after a potential Iran-US peace agreement. Fidan expressed that Turkey would have no objections to joining these efforts under the specified conditions. Additionally, he mentioned that issues related to Iran's nuclear program could potentially be resolved in upcoming talks in Pakistan.
