Ford, GM Defense, and BC Customs Compete for U.S. Army's New Infantry Squad Vehicle Contract
The U.S. Army has selected Ford, GM Defense, and BC Customs to develop prototypes for its new Infantry Squad Vehicle-Heavy (ISV-H). Each company will produce three prototypes by March 2027, which will undergo testing by the Army Test and Evaluation Command. The Army's requirements include a vehicle capable of carrying a 4,000-pound payload, towing a 6,500-pound trailer, and supporting high power demands for advanced military technologies. The new vehicle is expected to address power generation shortfalls and support autonomous operations.
