Orygen Launches First Nations Mental Health Coordinator Role to Enhance Support for Indigenous Youth
Orygen, Australia's leading youth mental health organization, has introduced a new role titled 'First Nations Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator' at headspace Werribee. This position is designed to provide culturally informed, strength-based support to young people and families from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. The role aims to reduce stigma and address barriers that may prevent Indigenous youth from accessing mental health care. The coordinator will act as a senior cultural leader, providing expertise in assessments, care planning, and wellbeing support.
