Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders Implements Education Freedom Accounts to Boost Student Performance
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has introduced the Education Freedom Accounts program, which provides scholarship funding to parents, allowing them to choose schools for their children. This initiative aims to improve educational outcomes by offering parents the freedom to select the best educational setting for their children. The program, now in its second year, has shown promising results, with participating students outperforming nearly 60% of their peers nationwide in math and English standardized assessments. The program has garnered significant support, with 81% of K-12 parents in favor, marking a 20-point increase since 2023. The Education Freedom Accounts allocate between $6,684 and $7,627 per student for educational expenses.
