Colorado School to Implement Drone-Based Active Shooter Response System
John Adams Academy, a public charter school in Douglas County, Colorado, is set to become the first school in the state to implement a drone-based active shooter response system. The drones, provided by Texas-based tech company Campus Guardian Angel, can launch within seconds of a confirmed threat, providing real-time information to first responders. The system aims to enhance response times and improve situational awareness during critical incidents. The school plans to have both the drone program and a School Resource Officer (SRO) as part of its security measures. The initiative has sparked concerns about the ethical and legal implications of using drones in school security.
